The Container Tower is part of a large scale project aiming to create a liveable urban environment in Dubai through the re-use and re-design of containers for different uses: residential, shops, libraries, conference rooms.

Recycling, sustainability, pre-formability and flexibility are the topics that are developed within the project.

The residential tower is conceived as the assembly of two containers of different sizes, forming three types of apartments. These can be combined to build floors of different shapes, which can be easily repeatable according to the necessary height and aggregate to common garden areas. The project has a low environmental impact thanks to bio-climatic strategies, the use of vegetation and dry building system. Large green areas have different purposes: they repair from desert winds and strong solar radiation, they improve the privacy of the apartments and give the building an added value of vegetation.

The square is surrounded by terraces, linked to a sequence of greenhouses with different purposes such as upturn in vegetation, production of forage and devel- opment of bio-climatic strategies.
